Samini wasn’t prevented from addressing students because of his dreadlocks – Headmaster

The Headmaster of Ebenezer Senior High School in Dansoman, Richard Kofi Mensah, has refuted claims that he prevented Dancehall Artiste, Emmanuel Andrew Samini from speaking to his students because he wore dreadlocks. Three days ago, Samini told Citi News he was blocked from having a talk with the students because the headmaster did not like his appearance. Samini had visited the school as part of activities for his event, SaminiFest. In an interview with Citi News, however, the headmaster said the allegation was false and that Samini had not been given the approval to speak to the students. “I didn’t prevent him [Samini and his crew] from speaking to them [the students]. Nana Addo was misled, NHIS paid only one month’s arrears – U/E Health Care Providers

The Private Health Care Providers Association (HISPA) of the Upper East Region has refuted claims by President Nana Akufo-Addo that the government has settled its members’ five month-arrears under the National Health Insurance Scheme for the year 2019. President Akufo-Addo at a recent media encounter said the government has paid NHIS claims up to the month of May 2019. But members of HISPA in the region say none of their members have been paid up to three months. Speaking to Citi News, immediate past regional president of HISPA, Mr. Thomas More, said: “This year (2019) those who have received NHIS claims at all [recieved claims for] only one month, either sometimes they will pay January or pay February and leave January. The Tema Regional Chapter of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) has held its maiden awards ceremony for journalists in Tema with a call on media personnel to lead the campaign for restoring Tema to its past enviable status as the industrial heartbeat of Ghana. Held under the theme “Addressing the woes of industries, the role of stakeholders and the media” the ceremony was graced by a number of high profile personalities from the inky fraternity, the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI), government officials amongst others. In all, eight journalists were awarded for their in-depth reports in the areas of industry, environment, fisheries, water and sanitation, road safety, health, finance and maritime reporting.
